---Event 1---
The "Scholastic Chess $3000 Young Masters" is a FIDE-rated 5 round Swiss with a prize-pool of HK$ 3000. Open to a maximum of 24 eligible players.

Time control: 15 minutes plus 10 seconds per move (15/10)

Prizes: Festival Walk Shopping Vouchers as follows:
1st - HK$ 1500​
2nd - HK$ 1000
3rd - HK$ 500

Eligibility - players under the age of 18**, a FIDE ID, and satisfying at least one of the following criteria:

having an HKCL rating of at least 900,

finished top 2 in Division A of a Scholastic Chess "Juniors" tournament. Please note a top 2 finish in Division A of our "Triple 10" round-robin events will not meet this requirement.

** For all tournaments, the age restrictions are as follows:
​
A player must have been born on/after the first day of the tournament month in 2005. For example:
​
October event -> Players born on/after 1 October 2005
December event -> Players born on/after 1 December 2005
March event -> Players born on/after 1 March 2006

---Event 2 ---
The Scholastic Chess Juniors is a 5 round tournament where players are matched against 5 other players of similar strength. The perfect place to try out chess tournaments! Open to a maximum of 60 eligible players.

Time control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds/move (15/10)

Prizes: A trophy and three medals per division:
1st - Trophy and gold medal
2nd - Silver medal
3rd - Bronze medal

Eligibility - players under the age of 18**. A FIDE ID is not required.

The 'Player & Parent Pack' will be sent out by email 2 days before the events, however, pairings are still subject to change up until the starting time. You can also access the directions and general player
information for both events on the page banner above.
Preliminary starting rank details for the Juniors' event will also be available on the banner page above 48 hours in advance.

Registration and Fees
Enrollment in these events are limited to ensure we have adequate arbiters monitoring every game. You may register by using the relevant registration links to the left. The registration fee is HK $450 per player per tournament. On the day registrations will not be processed.

Refund Policy:
Registration fees are not refundable, or transferable for withdrawals after the registration period closes 1 week prior to the event. If you plan to withdraw please notify us as soon as possible to help facilitate the smooth running of the event. Registration will not be refunded or transferred if the player is a no-show on the day.
