TOURNAMENT FOR STUDENT PLAYERS
A scholastic students' event played at a time-control of 15m0s (no increment) for each player, grouped into 6-player divisions suitable for all school-age players (see eligibility criteria on the right), with 5 games against players of similar strength and age.

The Juniors'
Address - 11/F Kennedy Town Community Centre, 12 Rock Hill Street, Kennedy Town.

Eligibility of players is limited to students born within 18 years of the
tournament month, e.g., after April 2007, for the May 2025 event; after November 2007 for the December 2025 event and so on.
​
A FIDE ID is not required.
The Tournament - will be played in 5 rounds single Round-Robin format for each division. Each division will have a maximum of 6 players. The players will be assigned to divisions based on their publicly available ratings. If the student does not have a rating, we will arrange a division assignment based on our understanding of your playing experience.

Prizes
The top player in each division will receive a trophy, and the top 3 players in each division will receive medals. The Gold and Silver medal winners in Division A will both earn eligibility to enter our FIDE-rated Young Masters (YM) events. Achievement medals and a trophy will be awarded for players reaching milestones related to playing rated games in recognition of their efforts.

Schedule
The 'Player & Parent Pack' will be sent out by email 2 days before the events, however, pairings are still subject to change up until the starting time. Alternatively, you can also access the directions and general player information on the page banner above.

Registration and Fees
Enrolment in this tournament is limited to ensure we have adequate arbiters monitoring every game. You may register by using the relevant registration link at the top of this page. The registration fee is HK $375 per player. Registrations will not be processed once the registration links close, typically at noon the day before the event. However, registrations MAY close earlier if we reach capacity.

Refund Policy:
Registration fees are not refundable or transferable for withdrawals within 48 hours of the event. If you plan to withdraw please notify us as soon as possible to help facilitate the smooth running of the tournament. Registration will not be refunded or transferred if the player is a no-show on the day.
