The purpose of Scholastic Chess is to promote international chess in Hong Kong, and to bring the benefits of chess to students in Hong Kong. We have Chess classes for players of various strengths. On-campus after school chess programs, group and private classes are held at different locations, including Stanley, Repulse Bay, Cyberport, South Horizons, Kennedy Town, Mid-Levels, Sheung Wan, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Kowloon Tong, Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung, and Tai Po.
Mr. Chui is a FIDE (World Chess Federation) Certified Chess Instructor. FIDE is the only International Olympic Committee recognized organization for overseeing international chess competitions.
Taught chess to high school students in California and has been teaching chess and coaching players at a number of schools in Hong Kong including international schools and traditional schools.
17 trophies and awards have been awarded to the teams and students coached by Mr. Chui since relocating to Hong kong. These include tournaments at the Hong Kong Inter-School Chess Championship 2013, ISF Academy Chess Championship 2013, Active Kids 4th Annual Scholastic Championship.
He has completed formal studies in Early Childhood Education in the United States and able to incorporate the latest best practices into chess instructions.
He volunteers his time working closely with the Global Student Coordinator at the World Chess Federation in promoting the game of chess to students. Some of Mr. Chui's students are now members of the World Chess Federation.
We run chess programs on school campuses. We also have group and private lessons at various locations on the Hong Kong island, and in Kowloon.
