​​Eligibility of players is limited to students born within 18 years of the tournament month, e.g., after February 2007, for the March 2025 event
The Tournament - will be played in 5 rounds using the Swiss system pairing method. If the student does not have an HKCL rating, we will determine a ranking assignment based on our understanding of the player's playing experience.​​​​​

Format: Swiss pairings
Rate of Play: 15 minutes with a 3 second increment
​Prizes: Trophy for the overall winner, medals for overall top three and the winners in U6, U8, U10, U12 and U18 age categories
​Fee: $150

The Player Meeting
The player meeting is open to all but aimed at our first-time participants. We'll be covering the tournament rule-set, as well as giving players and parents the chance to ask any questions they might have. Attendance for new players is mandatory

Registration and Fees
Enrolment in this tournament is limited to ensure we have adequate arbiters monitoring every game. You may register by using the relevant registration link at the top of this page. The registration fee is HK $150 per player. Registrations will not be processed once the registration links close, typically at noon the day before the event. However, registrations MAY close earlier if we reach capacity.

Refund Policy:
Registration fees are not refundable for withdrawals within 48 hours of the event. If you plan to withdraw please notify us as soon as possible to help facilitate the smooth running of the tournament.
