Designed for absolute beginners, this 10 week programme teaches the rules of chess and sparks a lasting passion. Children learn how the pieces move, the rules of check, checkmate and stalemate, along with sportsmanship in a fun, supportive environment. The focus is on building confidence and ensuring your child feels encouraged to keep playing.

The Levels of the Program

First Mover– from curiosity to confidence

For newcomers who already know the basic rules, our First‑Mover level develops essential skills and turns casual play into purposeful progress. Through short, engaging games and guided discovery, students learn opening principles and simple checkmates while forming positive study habits. They become comfortable, confident players who love the game.

Tactician – master the art of attacking

At this stage we focus on tactical strength. Coaches introduce classic tactical patterns and “miniature” games to help kids recognise and execute winning combinations. Students learn to play active, attacking chess and gain a deeper understanding of how to create and capitalise on opportunities. This level transforms strong amateurs into budding competitors.

Strategist – build tournament‑ready skills

The Strategist level lays the foundation for serious tournament play. Lessons emphasise positional concepts, planning, and endgame fundamentals. Your child learns how to evaluate positions, develop long‑term strategies and finish games confidently. With this foundation, players start competing more seriously and see their ratings climb.

Maestro – for aspiring champions

Our most advanced level is for dedicated young players considering professional or high‑level competitive chess. Coaches tailor the curriculum to each child’s style, covering complex positional ideas, advanced calculation techniques and customised opening repertoires. Students refine every aspect of their game and prepare to perform at a professional standard.
